On Sunday, 24 September 2023, PERWAKILAN Islamabad organized a Graduation Ceremony for the children of Home-Based Staff (HBS) of the High Commission at Mayang Sari Hall of the High Commission. His Excellency Ambassador Azhar graced the occasion in his capacity as Advisor of PERWAKILAN Islamabad. Chairperson of PERWAKILAN Islamabad, Madam Amelia and HBS as well as members of PERWAKILAN Islamabad were also present.
The purpose of the event was to celebrate the success of HBS children after completing Kelas Bimbingan Malaysia (Malaysian Guidance Class) under the tutelage of PERWAKILAN Islamabad and to handover the graduation certificate to the children. As part of the program, the children delightfully performed Endang Dance & Patriotic Dance (Saya Anak Malaysia). Ambassador Azhar and Madam Amelia distributed the graduation certificate to seven (7) children. In his remarks, the High Commissioner extended his congratulations to the children over their achievement and wished them best of luck for future success. He underscored the importance to instill the sense of national identity among the younger generation of Malaysia in particular among the children of HBS. The event was a success in cultivating a good sense of cultural affinity among not only the children but also members of PERWAKILAN and HBS.
