On Saturday, 7 December 2024, following the directives of the Prime Minister of Pakistan, the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) dispatched the first shipment of 40 tons of humanitarian assistance for flood-affected people in Malaysia via a chartered flight from Islamabad to Kuala Lumpur.
The consignment comprised essential relief items, including tents, blankets, quilts, sleeping bags, mats, and life jackets. Federal Minister for Housing & Works, Mian Riaz Hussain Pirzada, represented Pakistan, while Mr. Muhammad Zulasri bin Rosdi, First Secretary of the High Commission of Malaysia in Islamabad, represented the Malaysian government.
This assistance by the Pakistani government reflected the strong brotherly relationship between the two countries, particularly in times of disaster. Upon arrival at Malaysia, the consignment was received by senior officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Malaysia and the Malaysian National Disaster Management Agency, as well as the High Commissioner of Pakistan to Malaysia.
