On Thursday, 7 November 2024, on the invitation of former Judge of Supreme Court Justice Khalil-ur-Rehman Ramday, Ambassador Dato' Azhar attended the foundation stone ceremony of Ramday University at the Prime Minister House Islamabad. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif laid down the foundation stone of the university. Ramday University is being built under a Trust, with construction set to be completed through the donations of the overseas Pakistanis. The university was being established in the Thagos area of Ghanche district, Gilgit-Baltistan, on a 200-kanal area of land. The event was attended by members of Diplomatic Corps based in Islamabad, Federal Ministers, and Government Officials. The university will be one of the highest universities to be built at one of the world’s highest altitudes, adding that the university would offer education in subjects such as environmental studies, climate change, hydrology, minerals, and others.
