On 28 January 2026, His Excellency Ambassador Dato’ Mohammad Azhar Mazlan, High Commissioner of Malaysia to Pakistan, attended the ASEAN Committee in Islamabad (ACI) Chairmanship Handover Ceremony. He was accompanied by Mr. Zulasri Bin Rosdi, First Secretary of the High Commission of Malaysia.
The ceremony marked the formal handover of the ACI Chairmanship from the Kingdom of Thailand to the Republic of Indonesia. The High Commissioner of Malaysia conveyed his appreciation to His Excellency Mr. Rongvudhi Virabutr, Ambassador of Thailand to Pakistan, for Thailand’s dedicated leadership and contributions during its tenure as Chair, which strengthened coordination and cooperation among ASEAN Missions in Islamabad.
The High Commissioner also extended his warm congratulations and best wishes to His Excellency the Ambassador of Indonesia on assuming the Chairmanship of the ACI, and expressed Malaysia’s full support for Indonesia’s leadership in further enhancing ASEAN unity and engagement in Pakistan.
