In recognition of his significant contribution to strengthening Malaysia–Pakistan trade and economic relations, His Excellency Ambassador Dato’ Mohammad Azhar Mazlan, High Commissioner of Malaysia to Pakistan, was honoured at the Gujranwala Business Centre (GBC) Excellence Awards 2026 ceremony.
The ceremony was held on 3 February 2026 at the Gujranwala Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI) and was attended by ASEAN Heads of Mission based in Islamabad, business leaders, exporters, industrialists, government officials, and key stakeholders. The event was graced by Rana Ihsaan Afzal Khan, Coordinator to the Prime Minister on Commerce, as Chief Guest.
In his keynote address, Rana Ihsaan Afzal Khan commended Pakistan’s business community for its resilience and reaffirmed the federal government’s commitment to supporting the industrial sector through policy reforms, infrastructure development, SME incentives, improved access to financing, skills development, and export enhancement measures.
In his remarks, Ambassador Dato’ Azhar highlighted Gujranwala’s role as one of Pakistan’s key industrial hubs and underscored the strong potential for Malaysia–Pakistan collaboration through joint ventures, technology transfer, skills development, and market access. He also highlighted Malaysia’s role as a gateway to ASEAN, providing access to a market of over 680 million people.
