High Commissioner of Malaysia to Pakistan Attends One-Month Celebration of AirAsia X’s Karachi-Kuala Lumpur Route

On 30 June 2025, High Commissioner of Malaysia to Pakistan, His Excellency Ambassador Dato’ Azhar Mazlan, attended a special ceremony, commemorating the successful first month of operations of AirAsia X’s (AAX) direct flight route between Karachi and Kuala Lumpur.
The event marked a significant milestone in the growing bilateral relationship between Malaysia and Pakistan, underscoring the strengthening of people-to-people connections and fostering greater collaboration in trade, tourism, education, and investment.
In his remarks, Ambassador Dato' Azhar Mazlan commended AAX on the successful launch and rapid momentum achieved by the new route within its first month of operation. “The launch of direct flights between Karachi and Kuala Lumpur, and the strong momentum has achieved in such a short time, marks a significant step forward in strengthening the people-to-people, economic, and cultural ties between Malaysia and Pakistan,” he stated.
He further emphasised the importance of enhanced air connectivity in unlocking new opportunities across multiple sectors. “Improved air links such as this open new avenue for trade, tourism, education, and investment. AAX’s commitment to expanding regional connectivity is commendable, and we are proud to support its efforts in making Malaysia even more accessible to travellers from Pakistan, especially as we look ahead to Visit Malaysia 2026.”
The Karachi-Kuala Lumpur route operated by AAX is expected to play a pivotal role in facilitating greater mobility between the two nations and in promoting Malaysia as a premier travel and business destination in the region.
The High Commission of Malaysia in Pakistan reiterates its continued support for initiatives that enhance bilateral relations and looks forward to more collaborative efforts in advancing mutual interests.
