On 13 February 2026, His Excellency Ambassador Dato’ Mohammad Azhar Mazlan, High Commissioner of Malaysia, joined Heads of Mission and members of the diplomatic community based in Islamabad for a cultural visit to Pir Khara Sharif and attractions within the Salt Range. The visit was led by His Excellency Mr. Atadjan Movlamov, Dean of the Diplomatic Corps.
The delegation departed Islamabad in the morning and was received at the Pir Khara Sharif Rest House. The programme commenced with a visit to the Spiritual Valley, where participants appreciated the area’s natural flora and fauna as well as the panoramic views of the rugged mountain landscape. The delegation also explored the region’s distinctive salt formations and mines, gaining insight into the geological significance of the Salt Range.
Following the outdoor programme, the delegation returned to the shrine complex for lunch before proceeding to the Darbar for a visit to the historic site associated with the revered saint, including preserved relics of his residence. A comprehensive briefing was provided on the region’s heritage and its longstanding Sufi traditions linked to the Salt Range.
The High Commissioner of Malaysia commended such initiatives that promote cultural exchange and foster closer ties among members of the diplomatic corps.
