On Tuesday, 28 March 2023, Mr. Bilal Khan Afridi, Managing Director, Al-Haj Group hosted an Iftar Dinner in honour of Ambassador Azhar at Serena Hotel, Islamabad. Ambassador Azhar was accompanied by officials of the High Commission. Also present were Mr. Kashif Khan Afridi, Managing Director, Al-Haj Asia Star, Mr. Tauqeer Ahmed, Regional Sales Manager North and Mr. Naeem Khan, Corporate Manager.
Mr. Bilal greeted Ambassador Azhar on the Holy Month of Ramadan as well as briefed him about the ongoing business activities of their company in Pakistan. Al-Haj group is dealing in Automobile Manufacturing & Assembling, Oil & Gas Exploration and Production, Fuel Procurement, Export & Transit Logistics, Domestic Logistics, Textiles and Heavy Minerals Mining. The roll out of the Proton X70 marks a breakthrough in Pakistan’s automotive industry, as this is the first time that a highly advanced SUV is being assembled locally in Pakistan. Al-Haj has built a state-of-the-art vehicle plant which employs the latest technology and equipment that ensures that the locally assembled Proton X70 conforms to Proton’s Global Quality Standards.
Both sides took the opportunity to discuss issues of importance between Malaysia and Pakistan, particularly on trade and investment.
