On Saturday, 9 November 2024, Ambassador Dato’ Azhar inaugurated the Shaheen Sports League at the Jinnah Sports Complex in Islamabad. Organized by Al-Khidmat Foundation Pakistan to commemorate the birth anniversary of national poet Allama Muhammad Iqbal, the event featured 13 teams from nine districts across Punjab Province competing in various sports, including football, badminton, a hundred-meter race, and cricket.
All participants were orphans under the care of Al-Khidmat Foundation. A friendly match was also held with Palestinian students who recently arrived in Pakistan for their education. Ambassador Azhar was accompanied by Mr. Muhammad Zulasri Bin Rosdi, First Secretary of the High Commission. Notable attendees included President Al-Khidmat Foundation Punjab Chapter Rizwan Ahmed, Muhammad Bilal Azfar Abbasi, Air Marshal Farooq Habib, former MNA Mian Muhammad Aslam, Brigadier Abdul Jabbar Butt, and other distinguished guests.
