Malaysia was represented by Prof. Dr. Kamarulazizi Ibrahim, Director, Centre for Global Sustainability Studies (CGSS), USM, Prof. Dr. Zulkifli Yusop, Dean, Resource Sustainability Research Alliance, UTM and Dr. Asnor Muizan Ishak, Department of Irrigation and Drainage, to the International Conference on Asia Pacific Policy Dialogue on Water, Energy and Food Security for Poverty Alleviation in Dry Land Regions which was held from 23 – 25 November 2016 at Pir Mehr Ali Shah Arid Agricultural University, Rawalpindi, Pakistan.
His Excellency Dato’ Dr. Hasrul Sani Bin Mujatabar, High Commissioner of Malaysia was invited as a Guest Speaker and delivered his keynote address to the audience who are mainly from various fields of experts and also students. His Excellency Dato’ was accompanied by Mr. Syed Nauzer Idid Bin Syed Yusoff Idid, First Secretary/Head of Chancery of this High Commission to the op ening ceremony of the said conference. The Chief Guest was His Excellency Sheikh Aftab Ahmad, Federal Minister for Parliamentary Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.
The purpose of the conference was to bring together the policy makers, experts, and stakeholders from Asia-Pacific and Pakistan to discuss about Water Security, Energy, Food Security and Poverty Alleviation.
