On Thursday, 19 December 2024, Ambassador Dato' Mohammad Azhar Mazlan attended the closing ceremony of International Seminar on the Current State of Teaching and Research in Islamic Studies at the Allama Iqbal Auditorium, Islamic Research Institute (IRI) International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI), Faisal Masjid Campus, Islamabad.
The seminar was organized in connection with the Visit and Short-Term Exchange Student Mobility Program of the Academy of Islamic Studies, University of Malaya (UM), Malaysia. His Excellency High Commissioner was also accompanied by Mr. Muhammad Zulasri Bin Rosdi, First Secretary of the High Commission.
The seminar highlighted the vital role of exchange programmes in broadening academic horizons and building strong bilateral ties between academic institutions. The collaboration between Academy of Islamic Studies, UM and the IIUI marked a significant step towards strengthening academic partnerships and promoting excellence in Islamic education and research.
In his remarks, Ambassador Dato' Azhar emphasized the critical role of knowledge-sharing and collaboration in advancing Islamic Studies, highlighting Malaysia's ongoing contributions, including the recent translation of Allama Iqbal’s works, unveiled by YAB Prime Minister during his visit to Pakistan. These efforts reflect Malaysia’s commitment to aligning Islamic scholarship with the vision of Malaysia MADANI.
Ambassador Dato' Azhar also commended the collaboration between IIUI and UM, recognizing their efforts in capacity building and mentoring the next generation of scholars. He concluded by reaffirming the shared values of unity and resilience within the global Muslim community, expressing unwavering support for the Palestinian cause as a collective responsibility.
