On Saturday, 06 May 2023, His Excellency Ambassador Mohammad Azhar Mazlan, High Commissioner of Malaysia to Pakistan and Madam Amelia Amani Lee Abdullah hosted the Malaysia MADANI Eid-Ul-Fitr Open House at the High Commission of Malaysia in Islamabad.
In his welcome Eid address, the High Commissioner emphasized the pivotal role played by Malaysian diasporas in fostering stronger ties between the two nations. He underscored the importance of meaningful engagement between the brotherly peoples of Malaysia and Pakistan, in line with Malaysia Madani’s principle of progress and unity.
The guests were delighted to have been served with Malaysian traditional Raya dishes such as raya biscuits, lemang, rendang, nasi impit, kuah kacang as well as nasi lemak, ayam goreng, mee goreng , cucur udang and cakes prepared by PERWAKILAN ladies of the High Commission. The multitalented ladies also performed joget and sang evergreen Raya songs to the rapturous applause of the audience.
The event was well attended by more than 100 Malaysian diasporas, students, ASEAN and foreign Heads of Mission, diplomats, Pakistani government officials and business people as well as friends of Malaysia. From the positive feedbacks received, the Open House has been successful for Malaysian diasporas and friends of Malaysia to come together in the true spirit of Eid-Ul-Fitr.
