MALAYSIA EID-UL-FITR OPEN HOUSE

On Wednesday, 2 April 2025, the High Commissioner of Malaysia to Pakistan, His Excellency Ambassador Dato’ Mohammad Azhar Mazlan, and his spouse, To’ Puan Amelia Amani Lee Abdullah, hosted an Eid-ul-Fitr Open House at the Malaysian High Commission in Islamabad.

The event brought together a diverse and distinguished group of guests, including ASEAN Heads of Mission, the Dean of the African Group in Islamabad, Ambassadors from Russia and Kazakhstan, diplomats from ASEAN and the Central Asian Republics, the Chairman of the Institute of Strategic Studies Islamabad (ISSI), captains of industry, senior government officials, media representatives, prominent business leaders, and members of the Malaysian diaspora, all gathered to celebrate the joyous occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr.

The Open House, a cherished Malaysian tradition, aimed to foster unity, goodwill, and cultural exchange in the spirit of Eid-ul-Fitr. Guests were treated to a delectable spread of traditional Malaysian dishes, including Beef Rendang, Chinese Fried Rice, Mamak-Style Fried Noodles, Grilled Roasted Lamb, Slow-Roasted Spiced Lamb, Fried Chicken, Rice Vermicelli Soup, Ground Peanut Sauce, Savory Peanut Sauce (often paired with satay or rice cakes), and Compact Rice Cubes.

The gathering provided a valuable platform for meaningful exchanges between diplomats, policymakers, and members of civil society, further strengthening people-to-people connections between Malaysia and Pakistan. In his remarks, Ambassador Dato’ Azhar expressed his gratitude to the attendees for joining the celebration and emphasized the deep and enduring ties between Malaysia and Pakistan. He highlighted the significance of Eid-ul-Fitr as a time for reflection, gratitude, and the strengthening of friendships across communities.
