On 2 July 2025, Deputy Head of Mission, Mr. Mohd Syafik Firdaus, paid a courtesy call on Senator Faisal Saleem Rehman, Chairman of the Senate Standing Committee on Interior and Narcotics Control, at the Chairman’s Chamber, Senate Standing Committee on Interior office. The meeting served as a constructive platform to explore avenues for deepening bilateral cooperation between Malaysia and Pakistan, particularly in the sectors of parliamentary engagement, education, trade, and tourism.
Also present at the meeting was Mr. Abbas Saleem, President of the Mardan Chamber of Commerce and Industry, who engaged in a dialogue with Mr. Mohd Syafik regarding the expansion of business and trade relations. Discussions included potential collaboration between local chambers of commerce and Malaysian enterprises to explore mutually beneficial opportunities in various economic sectors.
During the meeting, Mr. Mohd Syafik highlighted his ongoing efforts to strengthen bilateral ties at the regional level. He also mentioned his previous visits to Charsadda, Gujranwala, and Peshawar, and confirmed his intention to visit Mardan in the near future to further promote cooperation and engagement.
The meeting reflected the shared commitment of both sides to advancing Malaysia-Pakistan relations through sustained dialogue, institutional collaboration, and people-centric initiatives.
