On 11 May 2014, H.E. Dato’ Dr. Hasrul Sani bin Mujtabar, High Commissioner of Malaysia to Pakistan met with the businessmen of Punjab. The meeting was organized by Mr. M. S. Babar, President of Pakistan-Malaysia Cooperation Forum. The meeting was followed by a dinner.
The purpose of the meeting with the captains of various industries was to enhance greater trade and business links between the two countries in future. Other matters discussed include to promote ties in tourism, education, defence production, housing, energy, textile, cultural show, Islamic Banking, telecom & IT, agriculture, fertilizer, chemical, real estate and halal foods sector. Former Governor of Punjab, Lt. Gen. (Retd) Khalid Maqbool also attended the meeting
