On Wednesday, 27 December 2023, Ambassador Azhar attended the National Scholars Conference, 2023 at Prime Minister Secretariat, Islamabad. The event was organised by the Ministry of National Health Services Regulations and Coordination / Pakistan Polio Eradication Programme and Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony. The topic of the event was "Key Role of Scholars in Eradicating Polio from Pakistan". Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Other present on the occasion were religious scholars and members of Diplomatic Corps based in Islamabad.
