On Saturday, 29 June 2024, Ambassador Dato' Azhar Mazlan bid farewell to Mr. Nguyen Tien Phong, Ambassador of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam to Pakistan, who departed from Islamabad International Airport upon the completion of his tenure in Pakistan.
Also on hand to see off the Ambassador were officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Pakistan, Heads of Mission/Chargé d'Affaires of Islamabad-based ASEAN Missions, and the Home-Based Staff of the Embassy of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.
Ambassador Dato' Azhar Mazlan, on behalf of Malaysia and ASEAN, extended heartfelt gratitude to Ambassador Nguyen Tien Phong for his dedicated service and contributions to strengthening Vietnam-Pakistan relations and promoting ASEAN unity. He wished Ambassador Phong continued success in his future endeavors and expressed hope for ongoing collaboration between their nations.
Ambassador Nguyen Tien Phong expressed his deep appreciation for the support and friendship he received during his tenure. He thanked the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, his ASEAN colleagues, and the diplomatic community in Islamabad for their cooperation and camaraderie, expressing confidence that the strong bonds between Vietnam, Pakistan, and ASEAN would continue to flourish.
