On Thursday, 28 November 2024, Mr. Nor Azuan Bin Haji Ayub, Third Secretary and Consular Officer of the High Commission of Malaysia in Islamabad, sent off the first group of 15 Malaysian nationals out of a total of 32 who were stranded in Pakistan.
The Malaysian nationals were stranded in Chilas, located in the Gilgit-Baltistan region. To resolve the situation, the High Commission contacted the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan and took necessary measures to ensure their safe return to Malaysia.
The second group of 12 Malaysian nationals is scheduled to fly from Lahore to Kuala Lumpur on 28 November 2024, while the final group of 5 will depart from Islamabad to Kuala Lumpur on 2 December 2024.
The Malaysian nationals expressed their gratitude for the timely assistance and support provided by the High Commission.
