The Deputy President of the Malaysian Senate, Datuk Nur Jazlan bin Tan Sri Mohamed, participated in the Inter-Parliamentary Speakers' Conference (ISC) held from 11 to 12 November 2025 in Islamabad.

With the theme “Peace, Security and Development,” the ISC provided a platform for parliamentarians from various nations to deliberate on enhancing parliamentary capacities in the areas of oversight, representation, and ethical governance. Discussions also focused on addressing inequality gaps and countering emerging security threats through strengthened legislative frameworks.

On the sidelines of the ISC, Datuk Nur Jazlan paid a courtesy call on the Speaker of the National Assembly of Pakistan, His Excellency Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, at the Parliament House. During the meeting, both sides reaffirmed the importance of continued inter-parliamentary cooperation and explored avenues to deepen bilateral engagement between Malaysia and Pakistan.

Datuk Nur Jazlan also visited the High Commission of Malaysia in Islamabad, where he met with all home-based staff and locally recruited staff. He expressed appreciation for their dedication in advancing Malaysia’s interests and strengthening Malaysia-Pakistan relations.

The participation of Datuk Nur Jazlan in the ISC underscores Malaysia’s commitment to fostering peace, security, and inclusive development through parliamentary diplomacy and international cooperation.
