UPDATED PROGRESS ON THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE COMPLEXES OF THE HIGH COMMISSION OF Again on Monday, 27 July 2009 at 4:30 p.m., HIS EXCELLENCY AMBASSADOR AHMAD SHAHIZAN ABD SAMAD, High Commissioner of Malaysia made his third site visit to the two plots in the Diplomatic Enclave in Islamabad. HAJI ISMAIL ARIS main Malaysian contractor of the Expertise International A& I was at hand to accompany and update AMBASSADOR AHMAD SHAHIZAN on the progress of the construction stage.
Since the second site visit, HAJI ISMAIL ARIS continued to enforce strict safety measures at the two construction sites by adhering to the mandatory usage of hard hat helmets and boots.
On updating the progress of the construction works, HAJI ISMAIL ARIS stated that tremendous amount of works have been done since, in particular on the excavation and removal of soils from the accumulated heaps, which were beyond our expectations due to past construction works since the 70s.
As regards the first plot (1.6 acres), the works have progressed very significantly with a number of structures have been created, such as foundation for the container-offices, concreted water-tanks, structural leveling and so forth. However, the second plot (2.5 acres) had some difficulties due to the heavy excavation and removal of the mountain-heaps of accumulated materials. According to HAJI ISMAIL ARIS, it was beyond his expectations that the abundance of these piles of soils and other materials had taken up so much of his resources, including fund, time and manpower as the land alignments penetrated deep into the mountain-heaps. On the overall, there was tremendous progress on the construction of the complexes of the High Commission of Malaysia to-date.

Major and extensive excavation works! In sum, the third site visit had depicted a tremendous amount of work-in-progress that has taken place in the construction of the complexes of the High Commission of Malaysia in Islamabad and, thus, exemplifying the ‘iconic’ manifestation of Malaysia’s significant representation in Pakistan.
