In conjunction with the celebration of Malaysia’s 68th National Day and the 62nd Malaysia Day, His Excellency Dato’ Mohamad Azhar Mazlan, High Commissioner of Malaysia to Pakistan, undertook an official visit to Karachi. Among the engagements arranged by the Consulate General was a visit to the Gamalux Oleochemicals Plant at Port Qasim on 15 September 2025. The programme was designed to highlight Malaysia’s industrial footprint in Pakistan, demonstrate the positive trajectory of bilateral economic cooperation and reaffirm Malaysia’s long-standing commitment to trade and industrial ties.

During the visit, the High Commissioner was briefed on the plant’s vertically integrated operations in fatty acids, soap noodles and finished soaps. Gamalux, originally founded in Malaysia in 1994, expanded to Sabah and Selangor before consolidating its overseas presence in Pakistan. The company also showcased its sustainability practices in waste management, renewable energy adoption and environmentally conscious production, areas that resonate with Malaysia’s own sustainability agenda under the Malaysia MADANI vision.
