WORKING VISIT OF YBHG. TUN ABDULLAH AHMAD BADAWI, FORMER PRIME MINISTER OF MALAYSIA TO PAKISTAN

YBhg. Tun Abdullah Ahmad Badawi, 5th Prime Minister of Malaysia led a 10 member delegation visited Pakistan at the official invitation of His Excellency Mr. Pervez Khattak, Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa from 03 – 06 April, 2017. 

 

On 4 April 2017, YBhg. Tun Abdullah Ahmad Badawi visited Peshawar of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province and held meeting with His Excellency Mr. Pervez Khattak.   YBhg. Tun Abdullah Ahmad Badawi also had a meeting with Pakistan’s Representatives of Halal Industry.  YBhg Dato’ Seri Jamil Bidin, CEO of Halal Industry Corporation, Malaysia, was also present. 

 

On 5 April 2017, His Excellency Mr. Mir Hasil Bizenjo, Minister of Ports and Shipping of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan called on YBhg. Tun Abdullah Ahmad Badawi and discussed to enhance cooperation in the field of Maritime.  The same day, YBhg. Tun Abdullah Ahmad Badawi visited Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI).  During his address to ICCI, he stated that Malaysian companies are keen to do business in Pakistan and both Pakistan and Malaysia have potential to cooperate in Halal Industry, Oil and Gas sectors, Islamic Financing, Healthcare and many other sectors.  YBhg Dato’ Seri Jamil Bidin, CEO of Halal Industry Corporation, apprised that Pakistan could get better access to ASEAN region through Malaysia. 

 

YBhg. Tun Abdullah Ahmad Badawi paid a courtesy call on His Excellency Mr. Sartaj Meeting, Adviser to Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs.  During the meeting, the two sides reviewed various aspects of Pakistan-Malaysia bilateral relations, as well as, the regional and international cooperation.

 

The High Commission of Malaysia also hosted a dinner in honour of YBhg. Tun Abdullah Ahmad Badawi and delegation at Marriott Hotel, Islamabad.
