The Expo was inaugurated by the Honourable Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Special Initiatives, Mr. Ahsan Iqbal, who highlighted Pakistan’s vision to harness its maritime potential for sustainable economic growth and regional connectivity. The closing ceremony of PIMEC was graced by the Honourable Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs, Mr. Muhammad Junaid Anwar Chaudhry, who commended the collaborative efforts of domestic and international participants in advancing Pakistan’s maritime transformation and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to developing the Blue Economy as a cornerstone of national progress.

Held concurrently with the Expo, the International Maritime Conference (IMC), co-organized by the National Institute of Maritime Affairs (NIMA), a think tank affiliated with Bahria University served as a key intellectual and strategic platform, facilitating discourse on maritime security, regional cooperation and sustainable ocean governance.

Malaysia was also represented by Kapten Md Zaman bin Hassan TLDM and Komander Mohd Lokman bin Bajuri TLDM. Their participation underscored Malaysia’s active engagement and growing cooperation with Pakistan in the maritime domain, aligning with the ASEAN Outlook on the Indo-Pacific (AOIP) and Malaysia’s Maritime Policy Framework 2021–2030.
