FAREWELL DINNER FOR H.E. DR. SHYAMAL MAJUMDAR, DIRECTOR GENERAL OF THE COLOMBO PLAN STAFF COLLEGE (CPSC), 29 APRIL 2011

His Excellency Dato Seri Dr. Ibrahim Saad, Ambassador of Malaysia to the Republic of the Philippines, in his capacity as the Chairman of the Governing Board of the Colombo Plan Staff College (CPSC), hosted a dinner for H.E. Dr. Shyamal Majumdar, the outgoing Director General of the CPSC on Friday, 29 April 2011 at “Rumah Malaysia”, the Official Residence of the Ambassador in Makati City.

 

The CPSC is a regional centre based in Manila, Philippines. The centre’s main aim is to provide training and education for technicians under the Colombo Plan. The CPSC’s programmes and activities are part of the South-South Cooperation amongst CPSC member countries. To date, there are 17 active CPSC member countries including Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Pakistan, Maldives, India, the Republic of Korea, Bangladesh and Afghanistan.

 

Malaysia currently chairs the CPSC for the period of June 2010 to June 2011. As such, the Ambassador of Malaysia to the Philippines is the current Chairman of the CPSC Governing Board.

 

The dinner was also attended by the CPSC Governing Board members, CPSC Faculty and Staff members, as well as officers from the Embassy of Malaysia in Manila.
