His Excellency Dato Seri Dr. Ibrahim Saad, Ambassador of Malaysia to the Republic of the Philippines and Madame Datin Seri Dato’ Zainab Abdul Zader hosted the Embassy of Malaysia’s Family Day on Labour Day, 1 May 2011 at “Rumah Malaysia”, the official residence of the Ambassador.

2.         Officers and staff of the Embassy, together with their families gathered at “Rumah Malaysia” in the late morning. The Embassy’s Family Day 2011 provided a valuable opportunity for all the officers and staff of the Embassy and their families to informally get together and socialise; away from the formalities and protocol of official duties and events.

3.         The Embassy’s Family Day began with a buffet brunch consisting of potluck dishes brought by family members of the Embassy’s officers and staff, as well as chicken and fish freshly barbequed at the Residence.

4.         The day then turned to fun and games, where family members karaoke-ed the afternoon away and the children took part in various games. Others kicked back and relaxed in the summer heat with cold drinks and conversation by the Residence’s swimming pool.

5.         The Embassy’s Family Day ended with H.E. Ambassador presenting gifts to children of the officers and staff of the Embassy. The event ended at about 6.00 pm.

6.         The festivities of the day further encouraged the harmonious relations within the Embassy of Malaysia in Makati City. The Embassy’s Family Day 2011 was also, in sorts, a microcosm of the ethnic and cultural diversity of Malaysia where its People, regardless of ethnic, social and economic background joined together in celebrating special occasions and festivities in peace, harmony and the 1Malaysia spirit.
