His Excellency Dato Seri Dr. Ibrahim Saad, Ambassador of Malaysia to the Republic of the Philippines hosted the Asia Society’s Asia in My Pocket (AiMP) Programme on Malaysia, on Monday, 18 October 2010 at “Rumah Malaysia”, the official residence of the Ambassador.
2. The event was jointly organised by the Embassy of Malaysia in Manila and the Asia Society of the Philippines, and was attended by about 30 local guests from the Manila business and corporate sector.
3. The AiMP Programme had the Embassy’s Tourism Malaysia and MATRADE offices hold presentations for the event’s participants. The presentations aimed to familiarise the participants to Malaysia’s profile, language, economy, attractions and business practices/etiquette.
4. Following the presentations, Malaysian Chef Alexander Chong gave a tour to the participants on the various Malaysian cuisines that were served that evening, including Laksa, Sup Ekor, Satay, Beef Rendang, Sayur Lodeh and assorted kuih-muih.
5. The successful event was also attended by a number of officials from the Embassy of Malaysia in Manila including Ms. Vimala Murugan, Economic Counselor; Mr. Har Man Ahmad, Export Promotion Counselor; and Ms. Masrina Mohd Bakri, Director, Tourism Malaysia.
