The Hon. Tan Sri Bernard Dompok, Minister of Plantation Industries and Commodities will be making an Official Visit to the Philippines from 15 to 19 April 2012 to officiate the Malaysia-Philippines Palm Trade Fair & Seminar (POTS) 2012 on 16 April in Manila.
2. In addition to officiating POTS, the Hon. Minister will make a Courtesy Call on the Hon. Proceso J. Alcala, Secretary of Agriculture on 16 April; and will also meet the Hon. Dr. Enrique T. Ona, Secretary of Health of the Philippines during the POTS Evening Forum and Dinner Talk on the same day.
3. On 17 April, the Hon. Minister will also officiate the Lam Soon Product Launching of Palm Olein products at S&R at Bonifacio Global City. Lam Soon is a Malaysian company involved in the palm oil industry. In the evening, the Hon. Minister will also have dinner with the Junior International Chamber (JCI).
4. During the visit, the Hon. Minister will also visit the Philippine Fibre Industry Development Authority (FIDA) in Quezon City on 18 April. On the same day, the Hon. Minister will take part in a Roundtable Discussion with the Philippine Wood Producers Associations (PWPA) and the Philippine Chamber of Furniture Industries (CFIP). In the evening of 18 April, the Hon. Minister will officiate a dinner hosted by the Malaysian Rubber Export Promotion Council (MPERC) which will be also be attended by representatives from the Philippine Department of Trade and Industry (DTI); the Philippine Rubber Industries Association (PRIA); the Motor Vehicle Parts Manufacturers Association of the Philippines (PMVPMA); and the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI).
5. Throughout the visit, the Hon. Minister will be accompanied by H.E. Dato Seri Dr. Ibrahim Saad, Ambassador of Malaysia to the Philippines; H.E. Datuk Dr. Choo Yuen May, Director General of the Malaysian Palm Oil Board (MPOB); H.E. Dato’ Lee Yeow Chor, Chairman of the Malaysian Palm Oil Council (MPOC); H.E. Dato’ Teo Suat Cheng, CEO, MREPC; Mr. Cheah Kam Huan, CEO, Malaysian Timber Council (MTC); and Mr. Ahmad Loman, Director General of the National Kenaf and Tobacco Board of Malaysia (NKTB). Other members of the Hon. Minister’s delegation include officers from the Ministry of Plantation Industries and Commodities and its affiliated agencies; and officials from the Embassy of Malaysia in Manila and MATRADE Manila.
