VISIT OF H.E. AMBASSADOR OF MALAYSIA TO BUKIDNON

His Excellency Dato Seri Dr. Ibrahim Saad, Ambassador of Malaysia to the Republic of the Philippines made a three-day visit to Bukidnon from 4 to 6 March 2011. The Ambassador was accompanied by Madame Datin Seri Zainab Abd. Kader, spouse of the Ambassador; and officials from the Embassy of Malaysia in Manila and the Consulate General of Malaysia in Davao City. Bukidnon is a province located in the Northern Mindanao region.

 

2.         During the course of the visit, the Ambassador made a courtesy call on the Hon. Senator Juan Miguel Zubiri and the Hon. Ignacio Zubiri, Mayor of Malaybalay City. The Ambassador and his delegation were also hosted to a dinner by the Hon. Senator and the Hon. Mayor after the courtesy call.

 

3.         The Ambassador and his delegation also attended the Piniliyapan Hu Bukidnon Festival at the Kaamulan Open Theatre, Malaybalay City where they treated to the various forms of music and dance traditional to the region.

 

4.         The Ambassador and his delegation also attended the Street Dance Festival and Competition which was held at the University of Bukidnon where the Ambassador also met with Dr. Victor Barroso, President of the university.

 

5.         During the visit, the Ambassador and his delegation also took the opportunity to visit the Monastery of the Transfiguration which was opened in 1885 by Spanish monks.
