The Hon. Datuk Seri Hj. Mohd. Ali bin Mohd. Rustam, the Chief Minister of the State of Malacca will be making a Working Visit to Iloilo City, Western Visayas on 30 and 31 May 2012 to attend the 1st Philippine International River Summit.
In addition to the Hon. Chief Minister of Malacca, the Hon. Ramon Paje, Secretary of Environment and Natural Resources and senior Philippine Government official are also expected to attend the summit at the Centennial Resort Hotel and Convention Centre in Alta Tierra, Jaro, Iloilo City.
With its theme, “My River, My Life”, the summit will address four issues: Governance, Biodiversity Conservation and Management, Climate Change and Disaster Risk Reduction Management and Water Quality Management.
The Hon. Chief Minister of Malacca will be accompanied by H.E. Dato Seri Dr. Ibrahim Saad, Ambassador of Malaysia to the Philippines and Datin Seri Dato’ Zainab Abd. Kader while in Iloilo City. The Hon. Chief Minister of Malacca will also be accompanied by a delegation of officers from the State Government of Malacca.
