WORKING VISIT OF DEPUTY SECRETARY GENERAL (MANAGEMENT SERVICES), MINISTRY OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS TO MANILA, 11-13 JANUARY 2012 

 

Y.Bhg. Dato' Rohana Ramli, Deputy Secretary General, Management Services (TKSU KP), Ministry of Foreign Affairs made a working visit to Manila from 11 to 13 January 2012. The purpose of the visit was to formally launch the Embassy’s Chancery renovation project.

 

Y.Bhg. Dato’ TKSU KP was accompanied by an officer from the Development Division of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as well as officers from the Department of Public Works of Malaysia.

 

During the visit, Y.Bhg. Dato’ TKSU KP met with H.E. Dato Seri Dr. Ibrahim Saad, Ambassador of Malaysia to the Philippines; as well as officials from the Department of Public Works, Embassy officials and project contractors. During the meeting, Y.Bhg. Dato’ TKSU KP was briefed on the status and progress of the Embassy’s Chancery renovation project. In addition, the visit programme included a project site visit in which the contractors provided a detailed update on the progress of renovation works in situ.

 

The Ambassador of Malaysia also hosted Y.Bhg. Dato’ TKSU KP to dinner at the Official Residence during the visit. The dinner was attended by members of Y.Bhg. Dato’ TKSU KP’s delegation and Embassy officials.

 

Following the official handing over of the renovation contract to the project contractors on 10 January 2012, renovation work has begun in earnest at the Chancery site. It is expected that when the renovation of the Chancery building is completed within the first half of 2012, the Embassy will move its premises to Tordesillas Street in Salcedo Village, Makati City.
