The Hon. Dato’ Seri Dr. Ahmad Zahid bin Hamidi, Minister of Defence will be undertaking a working visit to the Republic of the Philippines from 8 to 10 August 2010. The primary purpose of his visit is to visit the Base of the International Monitoring Team – Mindanao 5 (IMT-M5) in Cotabato City, Mindanao.
2. During the visit, the Hon. Minister of Defence is scheduled to make courtesy calls on H.E. Alberto G. Romulo, Secretary of Foreign Affairs; H.E. Voltaire T. Gazmin, Secretary of National Defense; and H.E Teresita Deles, Presidential Advisor on the Peace Process.
3. During the visit, the Hon. Minister of Defence will be accompanied by H.E. Dato’ Seri Dr. Ibrahim Saad, Ambassador of Malaysia to the Philippines; Vice Admiral Dato’ Jamil Osman of the Malaysian Joint Armed Forces; and Lt. Gen. Datuk Raja Mohamed Affandi Raja Mohamed Noor of the Malaysian Armed Forces. The Hon. Minister’s delegation also consists of senior officers from the Ministry of Defence, Malaysian Armed Forces and the Royal Malaysian Police.
