TALK ON MALAYSIA's 2015 CHAIRMANSHIP OF ASEAN

On Thursday, 20 November 2014, H.E. Dato’ Nik Mustafa Kamal bin Nik Ahmad, Ambassador of Malaysia to Romania delivered a talk at the Bucharest University of Economic Studies (ASE), on the topic “MALAYSIA 2015 CHAIRMANSHIP OF ASEAN”.
The talk was organized by the University together with the Romanian Institute for Europe – Asia Studies – IRSEA. The talk was opened by Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Dumitru Miron followed by a presentation by the President of IRSEA, (former) Amb Gheorghe SAVUICA , who was also the moderator for the night. Audience comprised students from ASE and its faculty as well as members of the diplomatic corps.
During his Talk, Amb Dato’ Nik Mustafa explained the origin and the important role that ASEAN has played in South East Asia and broadly on the international stage. He also focused on the aims and objectives that Malaysia would like to achieve during her chairmanship in 2015 which include the realisation of the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC).
Dato’ Nik Mustafa later fielded questions from the audience who were keen to know about the topic. The event gives the audience opportunities to learn more about ASEAN and the role that Malaysia would play as the Chair in 2015.
