AMBASSADOR OF MALAYSIA MET WITH H.E. ABDALLAH SATI MOHAMED, THE DIRECTOR OF THE TRAINING AND CAPACITY BUILDING DEPARTMENT AT THE MINISTRY OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS IN THE REPUBLIC OF THE SUDAN
On Sunday, 9 May 2021, Ambassador of Malaysia met with H.E. Abdallah Sati Mohamed, Director of the Training and Capacity Building Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the Republic of the Sudan at the latters' office. Both Ambassadors spoke about the current and future of Sudan in terms of human resources and Malaysia's desire to assist Sudan in developing the human capital of the Sudanese civil service. The discussions centred in how to improve as well as enhance the programme in Sudan. Due to COVID-19 measures, all the training programmes for 2021 will be conducted online. Both Ambassadors concluded that more needs to be done and that Malaysia welcomes proposals/ideas from Sudan so as to tailor-make specialised courses that will 100% benefit the participants.
Malaysia through its Malaysian Technical Cooperation Programme (MTCP) has trained hundreds of Sudanese since it was introduce here in 1994. The Embassy of Malaysia is currently are assisting the MTCP alumnus to establish an association that would play a role to improve networking and help facilitate future recipients of the programme.
