AMBASSADOR OF MALAYSIA MET WITH PROF. AWAD SAAD HASSAN, VICE-CHANCELLOR OF SUDAN UNIVERSITY OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY (SUST)
HE Mohamad Razdan Jamil, Ambassador of Malaysia, accompanied by Mr. Muhammad Rafeeq Mohd Razali, Third Secretary, met with Prof. Awad Saad Hassan, Vice-Chancellor of Sudan University of Science and Technology (SUST), on 8 February 2022 at the latter’s office.
The purpose of the meeting was to discuss various issues touching on possible cooperation/ collaboration in education between Malaysian universities and SUST. Discussions centred on reactivating existing MoU’s with Malaysian universities, introducing Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) programs, identifying possible joint research programs, collaboration in training of staff, collaboration in culture and arts particularly on introducing the Malay language and traditional Malaysian martial arts and dance, establishing a qualification framework, tailor-making MTCP programs for the teaching staff, drafting strategic plans for education policies, exchanging of staff and students between both countries, training of trainers (TOT) opportunities, scholarships and many other possibilities for mutual benefit.
The meeting proved to be a significant progress in clearing some technicalities and have provided a fresh impetus towards enhancing bilateral cooperation and laying down a solid foundation for Malaysia-Sudan relations in education and cultural exchanges.
