AMBASSADOR OF MALAYSIA MET WITH PROF. HUNUD ABIA KADOUF, VICE-CHANCELLOR OF INTERNATIONAL UNIVERSITY OF AFRICA (IUA)
On Wednesday, 5 January 2022, H.E. Mohamad Razdan Jamil, Ambassador of Malaysia accompanied by Mr. Mohd Faiz Firdaus Kamaruddin, First Secretary, and Mr. Muhammad Rafeeq Mohd Razali, Third Secretary met with Prof. Hunud Abia Kadouf, Vice-Chancellor of International University of Africa (IUA) accompanied by Prof. Abdel Rahman Mohammed Kauk, Deputy Vice-Chancellor for Academic Affairs and Prof. Hatim Osman Mohamed Khair, Deputy Vice-Chancellor for Administrative and Financial Affairs at the latter’s office.
The purpose of the meeting was to discuss on various issues touching on possible cooperation in education between Malaysian universities with the IUA. In this respect, both sides agreed to work together to develop programs for mutual benefit. Some initial discussions into introducing the Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) program, various projects such as initiating a Bahasa Malaysia Language course as well as participate in projects that could benefit the community like a Khartoum Model Village where waste, water and electricity management will be brought in to ensure a sustainable eco-system can be created.
The meeting also touched on the welfare of Malaysian students in IUA and to explore opportunities to attract more Malaysians to IUA. As such, the meeting also served as a valuable and productive opportunity where the President of the Malaysian-Sudan Student’s Association (PMMS), Mr. Syed Muhamad Nurbukhari Bin Syed Mohd Abu Bakar had the opportunity to share his views and concerns with the VC. The VC in turn provided solutions as well as shared his opinion which further proves that a positive synergy between the students and the senior management of the university is at an all time high.
The Embassy and IUA will continue to work together to explore the many issues discussed and it is hope that with these first steps, several initiatives will bear fruit in the coming months. Stay tune!
