FAREWELL DINNER FOR DR. SELVA RAMACHANDRAN, UNDP RESIDENCE REPRESENTATIVE IN SUDAN ON 11 SEPTEMBER 2020
On 11 September 2020, the Embassy organized a farewell dinner at Rumah Malaysia for Dr. Selva Ramachandran, United Nation Development Programme (UNDP) Residence Representative who had served for UNDP Sudan for 5 years and will end his employment with the UNDP in Sudan on 26 September 2020.
As a background of Dr. Selva, he was appointed as UNDP Resident Representative in Sudan on 8 January 2019. Prior to this appointment, he was UNDP Country Director in Sudan since July 2015. He also served as the Country Director of UNDP Libya (2014 to June 2015); Chief of North East Asia and Mekong Division, Regional Bureau of Asia & Pacific, New York (2010 to 2014); and Country Director of UNDP Yemen (2007 to 2010). He holds a PhD in Asian and International Studies from Griffith University, Brisbane, Australia. He also holds a Master’s and bachelor’s degrees in Population Studies from University of Malaya.
The Ambassador in his farewell remarks thanked him for his dedicated service and contributions to UNDP particularly in Sudan. He also wished him every success in his next assignment.
