MALAYSIAN CHARITY BAZAAR 2020

On Friday, 13 March 2020, the Embassy of Malaysia in collaboration with PERWAKILAN Khartoum had successfully organized the Malaysian Charity Bazaar 2020 at the Petronas Sudan Complex. The main purpose of the Bazaar was to promote the Visit Malaysia Year 2020 campaign as well as to raise funds for Petronas’ water well project in Omdurman and to help victims for the Annual Floods in Sudan.

The Embassy wishes to thank all those who made their time to attend and support the Bazaar this year. It is the first time the Embassy held such an event on its own in Sudan. We received over 500 visitors from the diplomatic corps, international organizations and local Sudanese even though there were many challenges, among others, the lack of fuel and uncertain weather.

The Bazaar had set up 9 stalls offering many Malaysian cuisines, wondrous desserts as well as exotic drinks. Also on display were Malaysian merchandises and fashion wear. The highlight throughout the Bazaar was the lucky draw segment and the generous contributions from our sponsors namely Design A Vacation Travel Agency, Planner Travel and Tourism Co. Ltd, Olympia Travel Agency, MyNile, Education Malaysia Global Assist, Abeer Al Ghad for Study Abroad Ltd, and the personal contributions of Ms. Lilis Surianty Mior Aziz and Mr. Yushazbullah Yusof. We wish to also take this opportunity to thank NADA Properties Ltd for sponsoring the venue as well as with the A/V equipment and stage. In our appreciation to the sponsors, the Bazaar Committee had also provided booths to those sponsors who were interested in showcasing their products and services.

One of the take-aways from this Bazaar is the importance of strengthening the networking opportunities and at the same time making friends with all those who participated. The Embassy looks forward to its next engagement to not only fulfill its social obligation especially to those that need it here in the Sudan but also to make friends and promote Malaysia-Sudan relations.

Finally, the Embassy wishes to thank everyone involved particularly Petronas Sudan, NADA Properties Ltd, the Malaysian Student’s Association (PMMS) and, last but not least, PERWAKILAN Khartoum.
