MALAYSIAN TECHNICAL COOPERATION PROGRAMME (MTCP) CERTIFICATE AWARDS CEREMONY 2021

On Wednesday, 8 December 2021, H.E. Mohamad Razdan Jamil, Ambassador of Malaysia to the Republic of the Sudan organized a Malaysian Technical Cooperation Programme (MTCP) Certificate Awards Ceremony 2021 for those who participated at the MTCP Online Courses. The reception was held at the Exhibition Hall, PETRONAS Sudan Complex and was attended by 50 MTCP Alumnus, a majority of them were from the Ministry of Justice and the others were made up of officials from various government ministries, agencies as well as the private sector.

In his opening remarks, H.E. Ambassador Razdan conveyed his utmost appreciation to the alumnus for taking the time from their heavy commitments to join the ceremony. He was also delighted to note that over 21 new registrations from the Ministry of Justice have now joined the Alumni. Since 1981, this brings the total of Sudanese benefitting from the MTCP Programme to 1,062 alumnus.

For this year's MTCP Programme, the Ambassador congratulated the 20 officers from the Ministry of Justice, who successfully participated in the MTCP Online Course: Digital Tools to Develop Basic English Language Proficiency from 21 - 25 June 2021 and 28 June - 2 July 2021 with 1 other officer from the Supreme Council of Vocational Training and Apprenticeship, who successfully participated in the MTCP Online Course: Live Video Technology For Online Training in New Norm from 31 May - 4 June 2021. For the year 2022, the Ambassador highlighted that he hopes to see more Sudanese participating in the MTCP courses as Malaysia wants to share its best practices and experiences with Sudan.

The Ambassador emphasized that once the process of registering the Association is completed and after the pandemic situation has improved, the Alumni should begin to organise activities that would be in tandem with the MTCP’s annual courses so as to promote better participation from Sudan and can be utilized for the benefit of all prospective MTCP recipient. For this Association to be successful, the committee needs to develop a clear vision, mission and objectives and subsequently to finalize its constitution where the Embassy can assist.

The Ambassador hopes that the networking of the MTCP recipients will help foster closer and more fruitful Malaysia-Sudan bilateral relations in line with the philosophy of “Prosper-thy-Neighbour” where Malaysia would like to see her neighbours or other developing countries to share technical know-how, experiences and best practices for mutual benefit.

The reception concluded with the guests enjoying an array of Malaysian cuisine prepared by the Ladies’ Association of the Embassy.
