PETRONAS SUDAN WINTER FUTSAL CHAMPIONSHIP 2022
PETRONAS Sudan Office (PSO) successfully held its Annual Futsal Tournament at PETRONAS Sudan Complex on 23 to 24 December 2022. There were ten (10) teams which participated in this year’s tournament. The teams were divided into two (2) groups which consisted of:
Group A - 2BOPCO, Embassy of Malaysia, SUDAPET, Oil Energy & UNDP
Group B - PETCO, PETRONAS, MEP, QIB & BAPCO
The Embassy’s squad was led by Mr. Mohd Faiz Firdaus Kamaruddin, Chargé d'affaires as team manager with Mr. Muhammad Rafeeq Mohd Razali, Third Secretary as a captain. The Malaysian students in Sudan made up the rest of the squad.
The champions of the tournament was the team from the Ministry of Energy and Petroleum (MEP) followed by the team from the 2BOPCO and in third place was the SUDAPET. The tournament was also graced by Mr. Ahmed Muhamed Abdelbagi, General Manager of Administrative Affairs of the MEP, who gave the closing remarks on which touched on MEP's relations with PETRONAS and Malaysia.
One of the take-aways from this tournament is the importance of strengthening the networking opportunities and at the same time making friends with all those who participated. With the sporting spirit reflecting the brotherly ties and esprit de corps amongst the community in Sudan, we look forward to the next instalment next year where the Embassy aims to improve its position.
