The Honorable Deputy Minister of Human Resources Malaysia, YB Senator Datuk Maznah Mazlan led a 7-member delegation to Khartoum, Sudan from 22-27 December 2010.
Her visit was on the invitation of the State Minister of Human Resources Development of the Republic of The Sudan, His Excellency El-Samani El-Wasilah.
Minister El-Samani said that the visit of the Honorable Deputy Minister came in response to the visit of a high-level Sudanese delegation to Kuala Lumpur in November 2010 and added that Malaysia and Sudan had agreed to establish a twinning programme between the two ministries. In a meeting which was jointly chaired between him and YB Senator Datuk Maznah Mazlan during the visit, they had discussed various issues which includes labour regulations in the two countries.
He added that Sudan and Malaysia agreed to boost the exchange of visit of experts and sharing of expertise in order to benefit from the Malaysian experience that contributes to the progressive economic development in Malaysia.
Y.Bhg. Tan Sri Sulaiman Mahbob, Adjunct Professor at The International Institute of Public Policy and Management (INPUMA) who was a member of the delegation also delivered two lectures on the issue of Federalism and Economic Development to high ranking Sudanese officials.
YB Senator Datuk Maznah Mazlan also met several women leaders in the public sector including Federal Minister of Social Welfare and Security, Amira Al-Fadil.
She also met a group of Malaysian students in Khartoum.
