On 20 March 2018, Chief of Defence Force, General Tan Sri Raja Mohamed Affandi Raja Mohamed Noor was conferred with Singapore’s highest military award, the Darjah Utama Bakti Cemerlang (Tentera) [Distinguished Service Order (Military)] by President Halimah Yaacob at the Istana. The Chief of Defence Force was accompanied by his wife, YBhg. Puan Sri Norlida Abdul Mubin; H.E. Dato’ Zulkifli Adnan, High Commissioner of Malaysia to Singapore and his wife, as well as officers from the Defence Adviser’s office of the High Commission. Also present were Singapore’s Defence Minister Dr Ng Eng Hen; Chief of Defence Force Lieutenant General Perry Lim; Permanent Secretary for Defence Development Mr Neo Kian Hong; Chief of Army MG Melvyn Ong; as well as other senior government officials and military officers from Singapore and Malaysia.
After the investiture, General Tan Sri Raja Mohamed Affandi Raja Mohamed Noor took the opportunity to call on Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong at the Istana. Prior to that, he called on Dr Ng Eng Hen and Lieutenant General Lim at the Ministry of Defence. During the calls, both sides reaffirmed the strong defence ties and expressed commitment to further deepen bilateral defence cooperation.
