Additional Official Commemorative Meeting at the Level of Foreign Ministers to Celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the Non-Aligned Movement

Foreign Minister of Malaysia, H.E. Anifah Aman attended the Additional Official Commemorative Meeting in Belgrade on 5-6th September 2011. 

  

During the meeting, H.E Anifah delivered a statement at the National Assembly calling for the NAM movement to review its role in today’s global political scene. He also asked the members of NAM to render humanitarian assistance to Somalia, as well as to support the Palestinian efforts for recognition. (full statement text available here)

 

H.E. Anifah Aman also held meetings with high ranking Serbian officials at the sideline of the summit. Among the dignitaries who met with the foreign minister were H.E. Boris Tadic, President of the Republic of Serbia, H.E. Vuk Jeremic, Minister of Foreign Affairs and H.E Dragan Sutanovac, Minister of Defense.

 

In these meetings both sides agreed to increase cooperation in various fields for the mutual benefit of the two countries. The Foreign Minister congratulated the officials for the successful hosting of the event, which he was deeply impressed. He also expressed his personal delight with the warmth and hospitality received from the Serbian government and the people he met throughout the event.
