In 1967, the Founding Fathers of ASEAN signed the Bangkok Declaration that formally established the Association of Southeast Asian Nations - ASEAN. It was a historic day, marking a commitment by the nations of Southeast Asia to work for a future of peace, stability and prosperity for the region.
Today, as we reflect on how far our region has progressed over the years, we also celebrate the bonds of our solidarity and cooperation. May we continue to be progressive, peaceful and prosper.
