8th August 2016 – The Diplomatic Missions of the Association of the Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) member countries to the Republic of Serbia organised a Flag Raising Ceremony to mark the 49th Anniversary of foundation of ASEAN.
The ceremony also marked the 1st Anniversary of the establishment of the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC), a free-trade area of 622 million people and the seventh-largest economy and the fourth-largest exporting region worldwide. Having one of the fastest GDP growth rates in the world, the ASEAN represents one of the most attractive economic partners today.
On the auspicious occasion of the celebration of the ASEAN Day 2016, the representatives of the ASEAN member countries to Serbia reaffirmed ASEAN’s commitment in pursuing further cooperation initiatives as well as to lay down new groundwork of regional cooperation.
The ASEAN Flag Raising Ceremony was attended by the representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia, Ambassadors of the Asia-Pacific countries to Serbia, representatives of the ASEAN dialogue partner countries and media representatives.
8. avgust 2016. godine – Diplomatske misije drzava clanica Udruzenja zemalja jugoistocne Azije (ASEAN) u Republici Srbiji organizovale su svecanu ceremoniju povodom obelezavanja 49. Godisnjice osnivanja ASEAN-a.
Ceremonija je takodje obuhvatila i obelezavanje 1. godisnjice uspostavljanja ASEAN ekonomske zajednice (AEC), zone slobodne trgovine sa 622 miliona stanovnika, koja je trenutno sedma najveca ekonomija u svetu, kao i cetrvti svetski izvoznik. Sa jednom od najvecih stopa rasta BDP-a u svetu, ASEAN predstavlja jednog od najpozeljnijih ekonomskih partnera danasnjice.
Tokom ove svecane proslave, predstavnici zemalja clanica ASEAN-a u Srbiji su jos jednom potvrdili ASEAN-ovu posvecenost nastavku integracionog procesa i odlucnost za jacanje temelja regionalne saradnje.
Centralni deo proslave je svakako bio ceremonijalno podizanje zastave ASEAN-a, kome su prisustvovali predstavnici Ministarstva spoljnih poslova Republike Srbije, ambasadori zemalja azijsko-pacificke regije u Republici Srbiji, predstavnici diplomatskih misija zemalja koje su dijalog partneri ASEAN-a, kao i predstavnici medija.
