31 August 2016 - Ms Suwaibah Nasir, a renowned Malaysian solo female runner, completed the run up the Avala Tower on 31 August 2016. This run up the tower signaled the beginning of Ms Suwaibah’s Humanitarian Tour of “One Women’s Mission to Conquer 30 World’s Tallest Towers”. The run is made more meaningful since it was being held in conjunction of Malaysia’s 59th National Day.
During the run, Ms Suwaibah was accompanied by Mr Nik Ady Arman, Chargè d'affaires of the Embassy of Malaysia in Belgrade and runners from the Serbian Balkan Racing League.
Ms Suwaibah undertakes this mission with the aim to spread humanitarian messages and to create the awareness particularly on the plight of the refugees/migrants group. As such, Ms Suwaibah will conclude her mission in Serbia with a visit to the Syrian refugee camp in Belgrade that is scheduled for 2 September 2016.
The Embassy of Malaysia in Belgrade believes that this particular effort of Ms Suwaibah would help in fostering good bilateral ties and meaningful cooperation between Malaysia and Serbia.
