HELP TO OUR CHILDREN ASSOCIATION

The Malaysian Charity Bazaar, organized by the Embassy of this country on Saturday, 4th June, on the premises of Malaysia’s Diplomatic Mission in Belgrade (2 Krajiska Street, Dedinje, from 10:00 to 18:00 hours), is a part of the Embassy’s public diplomacy approach and humanitarian initiative in Serbia. “This charity event is taking place in the surrounding of constant improving of bilateral relations between Serbia and Malaysia” – said for Danas Daily the Chargé d’Affaires of this Southeast Asian country, Mr. Nik Ady Arman Nik Mohd Kamil, who assumed office several months ago. He explains that the idea behind the organization of, now already traditional bazaars,  unique of its kind in the diplomatic community in Serbia, is based on the Embassy’s public diplomacy approach aimed at promotion of people-to-people relations between the two countries though humanitarian work. “Our goal is not only to provide material or financial aid to the socially vulnerable groups, but also to create awareness of certain social issues not being enough in the center of public attention” – the Malaysian diplomat said. This year’s bazaar will be organized under the slogan “Every help counts…” and all the proceeds from the event will be channeled to the Association “Nasa deca” (*Our Children) from Belgrade, which helps disabled children to develop their artistic talents.

According to the Chargé d’Affaires of the Malaysian Embassy, the Bazaar is supported by more than 50 socially responsible companies that will sell and promote their products and services at the event, as well as several Diplomatic Missions of the Asian countries. “We are planning to have a rich and diverse whole day cultural program comprised of traditional dance performances, local bands, demonstration of martial arts and traditional national costume fashion show. Special attention was paid to the entertainment for children” – Kamil announced. Previous Bazaars were held in 2012, 2013 and 2014. They were very successful and received several thousands of visitors.
