28th February 2015 – The Embassy of Malaysia in Belgrade, as a part of its public diplomacy activities and efforts to promote Malaysia in the Republic of Serbia, held the Night of Malaysian Culture at the Cultural Center of Novi Sad.
28. februar 2015. godine – Ambasada Malezije u Beogradu, kao deo svojih aktivnosti iz oblasti javne diplomatije i napora da promovise Maleziju u Republici Srbiji, je odrzala Vece malezijske kulture u Kulturnom centru Novog Sada.
The event was organized in cooperation with Mr. Viktor Lazic, famous Serbian travel novelist and a friend of Malaysia, who also held a promotion of his books titled “Doors to the East”, in which he described his own Malaysian adventure.
Manifestacija je organizovana u saradnji sa g. Viktorom Lazicem, poznatim srpskim putopiscem i prijateljem Malezije, koji je te veceri odrzao promociju svojih knjiga pod nazivom “Vrata istoka”, tokom koje je opisao njegovu avanturu na putovanju po Maleziji.
The local citizens were very interested to learn more about Malaysia as the large movie theater hall of the cultural center was filled to its capacity; the passageways were overcrowded on both sides with people sitting on the stairs during the event.
Lokalna publika je pokazala veliko interesovanje da nauci vise o Maleziji, sto se videlo i po velikoj sali kulturnog centra za bioskopske projekcije koja je bila popunjena do poslednjeg mesta; prolazi do sedista sa obe strane su bili puni ljudi koji su tokom dogadjaja sedeli na stepenicama.
The event started with the welcome speech by the Novi Sad Secretary of Culture and representative of the Mayor of Novi Sad, followed by the speech of the Charge d’Affaires of the Malaysian Embassy and Director of the Novi Sad Cultural Centre.
Manifestacija je pocela govorom dobroslice od strane Savetnika za kulturu grada Novog Sada i predstavnice gradonacelnika Novog Sada, za kojim su sledila obracanja otpravnika poslova v.d. Ambasade Malezije i direktora novosadskog kulturnog centra.
The very rich and diverse event program presented the people of Novi Sad with the opportunity to see, for their first time, Malaysian traditional dances, performed by the members of the Chenderawasih (Birds of Paradise) cultural troupe wearing traditional costumes, to watch a short documentary about Malaysia, see Malaysian painting exhibition, hear Mr. Viktor Lazic’s impressions and experience from his journey through Malaysia, but also to sample some of the finest traditional Malaysian cuisine specialties, prepared by the Association of Women of the Malaysian Embassy (Perwakilan).
Veoma bogat i raznolik sadrzaj manifestacije je pruzio gradjanima Novog Sada priliku da vide, po prvi put, tradicionalne malezijske plesove u izvodjenju kulturno-umetnickog drustva Chenderawaish (Rajske ptice), koji su nosili tradicionalne malezijske narodne nosnje, kao i da vide projekciju kratkog dokumentarnog filma o Maleziji, izlozbu malezijskih slika, cuju utiske i iskustva tokom putovanja g. Viktora Lazica po Maleziji, ali i da probaju neke od najboljih kulinarskih specijaliteta malezijske kuhinje, pripremljenih od strane Udruzenja zena Ambasade Malezije (Perwakilan).
The event received numerous positive feedbacks from the several-hundred people large audience that included the representatives of the government, judges, prosecutors, famous artists and media representatives.
Manifestacija je izazvala brojne pozitivne reakcije kod publike koja se sastojala od nekoliko stotina ljudi, ukljucujuci predstavnike vlade, sudije, tuzioce, poznate umetnike i predstavnike medija.
The Embassy of Malaysia in Belgrade thanks Mr. Viktor Lazic and the Cultural Centre of Novi Sad for their cooperation in the organization of Malaysian Night.
