On Saturday 22 June 2024, the Embassy of Malaysia participated in the 22nd International Carnival of Pančevo, one of the oldest cultural and most prominent events promoting the local and international cultural exchange in Serbia. Organised by the “Friends of Pancevo” Association under the auspices of the state, provincial and city authorities, the International Carnival of Pančevo is also internationally recognised as a part of the Federation of the European Carnival Cities’ (FECC) annual calendar.
This was the 18th Embassy’s participation in the Carnival, which showcased the performances by 22 Cultural Troupes from Serbia and abroad this year. During the Carnival’s Grand Parade and the main event that followed, several thousands of visitors had the opportunity to enjoy the colourful Malaysian national costumes, music and the live performance of the “Welcoming Dance” by the Embassy’s Cultural Troupe “Chenderawasih”. The Carnival ended with a sumptuous dinner for the participants and FECC representatives organised by the host. The Embassy wishes to thank the organiser for their warm hospitality and excellent collaboration, as well as to congratulate the Chenderawasih on yet another successful performance!
