19 October 2017 - Chef Dato’ Ismail Ahmad held a live cooking demonstration of several popular traditional Malaysian specialties and the demonstration and sampling of Malaysia’s popular Teh Tarik
In a live cooking demonstration for the participants of the “Enchanting Malaysia” tourism seminar, Chef Dato’ Ismail Ahmad showed the audiences on how to prepare Malaysian Mee Goreng (fried noodles) and Cucur Bawang (savoury onion fritters).
Some of the guests expressed their amazement that these two dishes are not just tasty, but were also easy to prepare since the ingredients used are available locally. The guests were also amused with the demonstration of Teh Tarik, Malaysian milk tea that was specially prepared by pouring the tea back and forth repeatedly between two containers from a height, giving it a thick frothy top. They were also enlightened to learn more regarding the benefits of palm oil products for cooking, courtesy of Muhibah Palm Products Sdn Bhd.
To complete the Malaysia’s “Truly Asia“ experience, the visitors were entertained by the Embassy’s cultural troupe, Chenderawasih.
