Traditional Malaysian dance performances, together with Serbian folklore, salsa and Latino dances, have marked the charity bazaar hosted by the embassy of this Asian county. The bazaar, from which all the proceeds will go to the maternity wards of the Aleksinac and Knjazevac health centres, featured delicacies and souvenirs that symbolize this exotic country located in southeast of the most populous continent.

Besides shopping, the visitors could participate in the charity raffle with more than 260 attractive prizes. More than one thousand five hundred charity raffle tickets have been sold at the event. Visitors had a chance to win airplane tickets to the country hosting the event, travels to other tourist destinations, sports memorabilia, artworks, jewelry…

Charity raffle winners were announced by Ivan Ivanovic, actor Slobodan Boda Ninkovic was the MC of the cultural program, while the Charge d'Affaires a.i. of Malaysia, Yubazlan Yusof was the event host.

The bazaar also featured a kids’ corner with a special air castle, as well as performances of magicians, clowns and other entertainers.

According to the organizers, the event was aimed to create awareness of the declining birth rate in Serbia, which is why the event’s slogan was “Better facilities, more babies”.

“More than 60 socially responsible companies have gathered around the noble cause of improving the conditions for newborn babies. Besides establishing a direct contact between the people of Malaysia and Serbia, we also wanted to help the maternity wards in Aleksinac and Knjazevac together” – the Embassy of Malaysia in Belgrade informed.
